The couple-turned-cofounders behind The Curiosity Shoppe—Lauren Smith and Derek Fagerstrom—ditched their New York City lifestyle for the Golden State. The duo set up shop (literally) in San Francisco’s Mission District in 2007, and they’ve been curating an assortment of crafts, kits, books, quirky objects d’art and home décor ever since.
And for the next set of The Shops at Target, Lauren and Derek created a 60-plus-piece collection (in stores Sept. 9) inspired by cities and landmarks from coast to coast, like a wood cutting board in the shape of the States and a Mount Rushmore mug. But the place that inspires them most is their home—sweet San Francisco.
Below, they take us on a tour of their beloved neighborhood, from burger joints to modern museums.
